Can't get into your account?
Email support@plateranks.com from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”. We’ll check the request came from you, delete the account, and email you when it’s done.
Signed in with Apple and chose to hide your email? Write from any address and tell us your PlateRanks username. We’ll confirm it’s you before we delete anything.
What we delete
- Your account, sign-in details, and profile details
- Your profile photo
- Your reviews and ratings, and the photos you added to them
- If one of your photos was picked as a plate’s main picture, we take it off the plate
- Your posts and the photos in them
- Your comments and likes
- Who you follow and who follows you
- Your Want to try list and saved reviews
- Your taste profile and visit history
- Optional details like your birth year, home area, and favorite cuisines
- Your notifications and notification settings
- The activity we log when you use PlateRanks, including the log of menus you uploaded
- If you manage a restaurant, your replies to reviews and your access to its page
What we keep
- Plates you added to a restaurant’s menu stay on the menu. They’re part of the restaurant’s page, not your profile.
- Messages you sent our support team, files you attached to them or to a restaurant claim, and reports you made about other people’s content. If you emailed us to delete your account, we also keep a note that we did, without your name or email. We keep these to settle disputes and keep PlateRanks safe.
- Searches you made stay in our records with your account removed from them, and are deleted within 90 days.
- Totals and trends that were already anonymous, like how many people reviewed a restaurant.
- Copies in our encrypted backups and in our private test copy of the database, until those copies are replaced.
See our Privacy Policy for more on how we handle your data.
